WOMEN AT WORK
Neighbor Lady, Trivandrum, South India
This woman wanted to talk about her son who works overseas in
the Gulf States. A widow, she lives with her unmarried, adult
daughter in a two-room apartment; she is comfortable in her old
age. The bamboo fabric wall covering is unusual in a Kerala home;
in most instances the walls are smooth plaster painted white or
pastel.
